About
I am a freelance journalist based out of San Francisco, CA. I am interested in social justice, intelligent discourse, and figuring out new tools to engage change. I’m interested in connecting with technologists, writers, and anyone else who enjoys ranting about injustice over a glass of bourbon.
Originally, this was a blog started for an online journalism course. Lately, it’s become a nice little space for me to spill my mind. Right now I’m interested in writing about the neighborhood I live in, my political beliefs, and whatever else throws me into a fit of typing.
Until a few months ago, I served as Opinion Editor over at SFSU’s student newspaper, Xpress. Perhaps you’ve read one of the various outraged editorials that I’ve helped author with the rest of the editorial staff. I’m also all over Twitter.

Just now read your blog for the first time thanks to Geek Feminism. You go!!!! You are awesome and keep up the good work.
Every little thing helps.
Hi KC.
I live in Australia and your post about the DefCon cards was brought to my attention on Facebook by a (male) friend. I would like to buy a whole bunch of your cards to carry around in my purse for use on those occasions when you wish you had something like that with you. I’d get them for my friends, too. Would you consider selling them over the Internet? You could (as you mentioned) donate the profits to an organisation like the Sally Ride Science: https://sallyridescience.com/ — please let me know.
